Facebook Mergers with Instagram and WhatsApp

The recent update on both IOS and Android devices has shown a new pop-up icon in the Instagram mobile app, the usual DM icon on the top right of Instagram is replaced with the Facebook Messenger icon, with a list of features including a new colorful chatroom with radiant colors and background in the chatroom. Although they have merged all 3 platforms it’s still not possible for Facebook users from Instagram.

Facebook bought Instagram for $1 billion in 2012 and WhatsApp in 2014 for $19 billion. Facebook also added a messenger room with WhatsApp on the Web. People also can access Messenger rooms through WhatsApp web via desktop which allows up to 50 people to conduct a video call.

This feature is yet to be published on mobile. Facebook made it clear about unifying all their Apps chatrooms together so that users with one of its apps could connect with different people of other Social media. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg mentioned that this would be an end-to-end encrypted. Facebook is trying to compete more with Apple’s iMessage.

This would be a controversial opinion amongst a few social media users who use all three platforms because of Facebook’s history of leaking the personal data of users.
