Razer’s new Blade 15 Base model is just $1,499

There’s a new Blade 15 Base model up for preorder as of today, which is just $1,499. It will be delivered on 25 December. A Core i7-10750H, 15.6-inch 120Hz display, GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 16GB RAM, and 256GB of SSD storage, plus an open M.2 slot are included in the model. You will get two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and one HDMI 2.0.

Note: these are almost the exact same specifications you can already buy for the $1,599 Blade 15 Foundation. The main difference is that there is a 144Hz monitor on the more costly model. The model is on sale for $1,499 on Razer’s website as of this writing. That means that when you can get a better screen right now for the same amount of money, there is little need to preorder the upcoming Base model.

Storage is another thing to remember. Let’s face it for a gaming laptop, 256GB is not a lot of room. You’re not going to be able to fit a lot of titles on it. The expandable storage means the 256GB is more forgivable, but if you intend to upgrade, you would always need to go through the hassle of purchasing an extra drive. Alternatively, on Razer’s website, a Blade 15 Base with a 512GB SSD is currently on sale for $ 1,599, which is just $ 100 more than the base model.

But if $1,499 really hits the sweet spot for you, and you’ve missed the sale on the 144Hz model, you can preorder the new Blade 15 Base model on Razer’s website.
